5 ways to make WORK FROM HOME effective Creativity, Productivity and Networking

The professional scenario was different in the 90's, where males held the higher percentage of the working population and females worked more up till, domestic responsibilities took charge.
Over the time professional landscape has evolved, women participation has increased and gramercy to the option of work from home, they can continue to nail it in the corporate world.
Working from home has its own perks: flexibility, schedule-management, giving time to kids and family, no more long commutes and traffic hours, autonomous working. However, with many perks, work from home comes with a pack of commotion. With change in work-settings to sustaining concentration to managing role plays, it's a backbreaker to be efficient and productive.
Below are a few ideas to help you slay when working from home!
1.     Develop the work-space: Setting up a work-station is crucial for the success of a 'work-from-home' employee. Get the necessary equipments needed to function, decorate your work place aesthetically but make sure its not all that pink stuff or GOT  abberated themed. Establishing a work-schedule is climacteric for productivity, maintain regular schedule hours, as it helps to be more efficient. It is imperative to fix work-hours, and break-hours. Don't get trapped into the quicksand of over-working and burning out, end your day just in time.
2.     Dress to perform and perfect: Get up sunshine, shower and get dressed for work. Do not differentiate between dressing for work at office or home. That tee-shirt and sweatpants are definitely easy-breezy, but they will make you sluggish and de-motivated.  Dressing up activates your brain and signals that its work time, and you are ready to execute with zeal. Bonus point: you also get a sneaky opportunity to experiment new work-wear styles.
3.     Work on role-goals : Write down your goals according to your role in life: personal and professional and post them at your desk. One often gets caught up in routine tasks and the focus drifts to checking off items in the to-do list. Writing and posting role-goals, allows you to look at them every day and it ensures that you remember the preponderant reason behind why you started what you started. It will help to evaluate your progress on track, and re-route yourself if needed.
4.     5-minute rule to organizing: I use the 5-minute rule to quick organizing my day. Give yourself 5-minutes every two hours of your official work hours to scan and revert to your urgent emails, grab that energy bar, make that 'do-take-your-vitamins' reminder call, so anything that does not take more than five minutes. It puts your 'work-stressed' brain at ease, gives that little happy jolt and motivates you to get back on the task with better focus.
5.     Manage flipping lids and frenzies : It is imperative to manage distractions be it posting that date night picture, or popping girl friends for advice on how to get that scrumptious chicken gravy. Be assertive and stick to the work schedule, you wouldn't let your attention waiver off would you have been in office right! Online distractions can be managed with the help of various restrictive apps and settings on the browser.
