Self discipline= Self love

This week, we will discuss why self discipline is just another form of self love in the long run.

Whatever you do, whatever you commit to...winning at everything requires self discipline.

Self discipline is not self-suppression. Suppression is when you resist and fight against your desires, keeping them as buried and unexpressed as possible. Self-discipline is when your highest desires rule your lesser desires, not through resistance, but through loving action grounded in understanding and compassion.

But why is imposing self discipline crucial? Because nothing comes easy. There are unforeseen obstacles and setbacks on the road to success- and the only key to overcome these is perseverance and self discipline.

Many a times, when we don't see results- when we fail- when we are beaten down by the challenges- the easiest course of action is to QUIT. 

On the other hand, self discipline is a type of selective training, which requires development of new thought patterns, action and implementation that help you to push your limits and keep moving. It ensures that you finish what you start, that you continue inspite of inconvenience. 

The habit of self discipline ensures consistency, willpower and hard-work. 

But why are some people more disciplined than other?

According to research, levels of dopamine determine the internal drive of discipline of an individual. Higher level of dopamine have greater discipline drive whereas lower levels can cause other to quit. Although there are various other factors that are taken into account when we talk about perseverance, but dopamine is one factor that can be harnessed and used as key motivating force to help you thrive and achieve goals.

Hence dopamine is fundamental for creating a consistent habit of perseverance and self-discipline.  However the awesome part is that this neurochemical is accessible to anyone who wants to work on their perseverance level

Learning the basics to condition yourself and self-administer this reward molecule  can turn anyone into a success story.
