- Set SMART goals: Setting up goals that are small, measurable and achievable within deadlines is the prime step towards creating small, measurable wins. The cue is to take baby steps, the more you train, the stronger you get.These small accomplishments will lead you to develop a positive image of your hard-work, hence boosting self confidence and leading to set up bigger goals, for which you would be in a mental state to put in the hard work and sweat.
- Motivators and De-motivators: Develop deeper awareness on yourself. Observe the factors that motivate you to work towards your goals, and simultaneously also focus on elements that trigger you down. An individual's willpower is affected by his/her energy levels. Hence, it is suggested to figure out what boosts your level of willpower- it could be energetic music, or some exercise or exchanging ideas with similar minded people.
- Positivism is pivotal: Our minds drive our world- it is where we win or fail. Therefore it is crucial to feed it with positive motivation be it audios, videos or in the form of books etc. We eventually become what we see, hear or read most of the time. Dopamine is related to positive behaviour and positive behaviour related to goal achievement reinforces perseverance, hard-work and agility.
- Actions should complement Ambitions: Consistency is the key. Taking relevant and consistent actions that support and complement your set goals are the key to achieving success. They help you turn an intangible dream into tangible reality. The "WHAT" you want and the "WHY" you want should be the fundamentals of your action plan.
Self discipline may seem painful or some form of self punishment, but it is just a habit that will help you achieve your dreams in the long run. It is a trait that will help you not fall prey to instant gratification, to not fail in the course of achievement, and to push beyond your limits of tolerance.
